Thaumcraft Research Solver

Privacy policy

Last updated October 12, 2026. This policy describes the current website at thaumcraftresearchsolver.com, operated by Zachary Inserra.

Research graphs and files

Research notes, selected aspects, gaps, and route calculations are processed in your browser. The solver does not upload your graph or imported JSON files to our server or send their contents to Google Analytics. Exports are files you save yourself. The current note is held in memory and is not automatically saved across reloads.

The site has no user accounts, checkout, or built-in contact form. Information you deliberately post through our feedback channel is handled separately, as described below.

Automatic Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, linked to Firebase, to understand visits, active users, page views, traffic sources, and device/browser information. Analytics initializes automatically when the site loads; the current site does not display an analytics opt-in banner.

Google Analytics can set first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_* cookies, to distinguish browsers and measure sessions. These identifiers do not tell us your name. Information sent to Google can include page addresses, referrers, interaction and session data, browser/device details, and approximate location. Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses when collecting data. See Google’s data safeguards and Analytics cookie information.

Our site’s tag disables Google Signals and advertising personalization signals and denies advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization. Analytics data is used to understand use of this tool, not to transmit your research graph.

Your choices

You can block analytics requests through browser privacy tools or a DNS/content blocker, restrict cookies in your browser, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Deleting cookies removes existing identifiers but does not itself prevent new analytics requests or cookies. Blocking analytics does not prevent the research solver from working.

Hosting and service providers

The website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. Serving pages involves processing network information, such as IP addresses and request metadata, for delivery, security, and service operation. Google processes data according to its service terms and policies; see Firebase privacy information and Google’s privacy policy. Service-provider processing may take place in countries outside your own.

Advertising

The site includes Google AdSense code and publishes an ads.txt record identifying Google as an authorized advertising seller. Ads help support the site when enabled by Google. Whether ads are displayed depends on site approval, advertising settings, availability, and visitor privacy choices.

Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies and process information such as IP addresses, device/browser information, page activity, and ad interactions to deliver ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud. Advertising cookies can allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this and other websites. Advertising data handling is separate from our Google Analytics tag’s settings.

Where applicable, Google’s privacy messages provide choices about advertising data use. You can manage Google personalized-ad settings through My Ad Center, and participating providers’ choices through YourAdChoices. Turning off personalization does not necessarily remove ads or stop all advertising data processing. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services for more details.

Feedback and information you share

Our contact channel is a public GitHub feedback repository. Posting there shares your GitHub username, message, and attachments publicly. GitHub handles account and service data under its privacy statement. We use feedback to respond to questions and improve the solver. Do not submit sensitive personal information through public issues.

Retention and privacy requests

Graph data remains in the current browser session unless you export it. Analytics retention and cookie lifetimes are governed by the Google Analytics configuration and Google’s policies. Public feedback remains on GitHub until removed or otherwise managed there.

For questions about this policy or a request concerning information you shared with us, contact the maintainer through the feedback repository. Describe the request without posting sensitive details. Any access or deletion request depends on applicable rights and whether we can identify the relevant data; we cannot identify a particular visitor from a name alone in aggregate reports.

Policy changes

We will revise this page when the website’s data practices change. The date above identifies the latest update.
